Meet Tuck:
“I adopted Tuck from the Washington Humane Society (WHS) in February 2006 at
the New York Avenue Adoption Center, when he was almost a year old. Tuck’s full
name is Tucker Michelle Kwan (yes, after the figure
skater). I hadn't planned to adopt a dog that day, but when I saw him, I just
had to.
I moved away from DC in 2008, back to my home state of Mississippi. Tuck is
most certainly a city dog, but there is nothing he loves more than chasing a
squirrel, which he can do quite often now. He loves to cuddle, and at almost
eight years old, I am still asked if he is a young dog, because
he has the energy of a puppy.
Tuck has been through a lot with me, and he is the most loyal companion I could
ever ask for. He is spoiled, but that is my fault. He only enjoys his
water out of a glass, and it must have ice in it.”

“Sawyer
is so much fun and is doing well as a new addition in our family. Boy is he
smart, affectionate, and full of energy. Sawyer is extremely playful; his
hound senses lead him into some funny situations. The way to Sawyer's heart is through his stomach, which makes it easy to train him. Sawyer loves to play outside,
and recently, we noticed that he has quite a knack for dribbling a basketball
like a soccer player. He runs the ball down and gains control of it with his
head, and then moves the ball playfully with his two front paws in a zigzag
motion.”
Meet Callalou and
Mellio:
“It has been four months since my housemate Mark and I adopted Callalou and
Mellio from WHS - four wonderful months. We absolutely adore them and consider
them an integral part of our household. Despite being FIV*, their first vet
checkup was perfectly clean. Thank you for giving them so much love, attention,
and care.”
