“I’d like to share a life-changing story with you. A few years ago, the Washington Humane Society (WHS) was invited to the Fox 5 morning show for a pet segment. I’ve always had a soft spot in my heart for animals, so I was excited to have WHS introduce our viewers to some of their adoptable pets.
Little did I know that one of the puppies was going to steal my heart. After the segment aired, I found that I couldn’t stop thinking about a cute little Rat Terrier named Brownie. His personality, his adorable face…it wasn’t long before my family and I decided to welcome this little ball of energy into our home.
Bringing Brownie home was only the beginning of my relationship with WHS. Seeing the caliber of care provided at WHS shelters and experiencing the dedication of the WHS staff quickly inspired me to take an active role as a volunteer. Now I take great pleasure in supporting the work of WHS, including acting as Mistress of Ceremonies at its annual Bark Ball for the past three years!
Maybe Brownie and I will see you at the next Bark Ball!”
