Over 500 dogs, accompanied by more than 1000 people turned out this past Saturday to support WHS at the first “Pups In The Park” of the season to watch the Washington Nationals play the Florida Marlins.
Presented by Natural Balance Pet Foods and hosted by the Washington Nationals, our loyal partner in promoting responsible pet ownership, the event started with a “Pup Parade” on the field that welcomed dogs and their families as well as dogs available for adoption through WHS. The seats, located in sections outside of right field, were completely sold out and guests attending the game with their dogs enjoyed a reserved picnic area right next to their seats.
Natural Balance Pet Zone sponsored product samplings and promotional giveaways along with some local pet vendors that had tables and provided treats and water bowls for the canine guests. There was even a patch of sod laid down for “doggie breaks”! Also on hand were a few WHS Animal Control Officers to ensure everyone’s safety. One officer described the event as “a blast for both people and dogs!”
There are only two “Pups In The Park” games left this season; July 9th against the Colorado Rockies (7:05 pm game) and September 24th against the Atlanta Braves (1:05pm game) so order your tickets now and support WHS while cheering on the Nationals. Click here for tickets.
If you can't make it to either of the remaining games or if you want to support WHS even further, attending our 24th annual Bark Ball on June 4th is a great way to show your support and have a great time with your canine friend. For more information visit www.barkball.com
