Copper has been amazing!
He continues to be the sweet, attentive dog he was when we first met. But
we have also learned more about his fun side. He likes to play fetch with
his stuffed animals and he has an adorable habit of pouncing on them before
gingerly picking them up and returning to you. He and I go running most
mornings for about 30-40 minutes around the mall.
Ethan and I are also trying to work with him to master a
reliable sit-sat, which is a nice challenge for all of us. And he has also
proven to be happily independent. Ethan and I have gone to dinner a couple
of times and were relieved to find that Copper could hang out in the house
for a few hours without destroying a single thing. He even gets along well
with all of our friends' dogs!
Of course, we have had the normal new-dog owner problems. After the first
vet visit we learned he had hook worms, and so he is being treated for
that. He also developed conjunctivitis (pink eye) this week and so we went
back to the vet for some eye drops. As a result, we are GREATLY
appreciative of the free month of pet insurance you gave us and we plan to
renew it. We also learned that Copper can eat an entire tray of cookies in
under 20 minutes if he has the chance, a lesson we plan to remember for all
time.
We are extremely happy to have Copper in our home. We quickly
fell in love with him and it is hard to imagine our lives without
him now. We also greatly appreciate all of your help through this adoption
process and have been strongly recommending adopting a shelter animal
to all of our friends.
I have attached a couple of pictures. One of the photos will show you
how much Copper liked the blizzard a few weeks ago.
Thank you,
Rachel
