Say hi to Gracious; she's at our Georgia Avenue shelter. I'll try to get a better picture of her tonight. My favorite thing about Wednesdays is walking the big dogs in Takoma Park after clicker training practice.

Gracious is a gorgeous dog with the sweetest face, and she's sooo affectionate! All she wants is to wrap her paws around you. Being a Norwegian Elkhound mix, I'm sure she'll love being out in the snow (update: she does!).

She is about a year old and had been an outdoor dog all her life. Her previous owners brought her in because they weren't willing to give her an indoor home but thought that someone else might. I couldn't believe she had never been on a leash. She walks perfectly and lets you set the pace, whether you want to go for a run or take it slow. She's really great company; I hope someone takes her home soon!

I love her too! She just gently stands on her hind legs and its almost as if she wants to dance with you! I've used her in my demonstrations with new volunteers because she does so well on leash. She's such a wonderful dog.

She's so great! There was a little patch of snow in the park last Saturday and she rolled and pounced in it over and over! I can't believe how much that girl sheds though...

i'm guessing she's been adopted by now. i have a norwegian elkhound mix and he sounds just like you described gracious. very gentle mannered dog and does enjoy being in the snow and dances on his hind legs.
